Bachelor of education is an undergraduate degree course that qualifies students to work as teachers in schools. The duration of this course is 2 years with a total of 4 semesters. The B.Ed degree is necessary for teaching at the secondary and higher secondary divisions. The B.Ed degree is necessary for teaching at the secondary (classes 6 to 10) and higher secondary (classes 11 and 12) divisions. 

After B.Ed, students have the flexibility to pursue Master of Education [M.Ed.] in any Indian university or teacher-training institutes offering the course. The National Council for Teacher Education is the statutory body that regulates teacher training courses in India.

The specialization subject or stream of pursuance by a particular student prior to the pursuance of B.Ed course determines the choice of subjects that he or she is allowed to teach. For students who have pursued humanities stream, the choice of subjects of instruction is vastly constricted to the following:

  • History

  • Civics

  • Geography

  • Languages etc.

The course is considered to be the bedrock of one of the most promising professions in terms of salary and job security besides the tremendous amount of respect that a teacher commands in the world. The minimum duration for the completion of a B.Ed course  is two years. However, the maximum duration has been set as three years. 

 

The candidate wishing to pursue a B.Ed. course is mandated to appear for B.Ed entrance exams organized by JCECEB. The B.Ed salary scale for a government teaching job is very impressive, while the growth rate in salary is exponentially high for diligent aspirants.

 ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

​

  1. Candidates With At Least 50% Marks Either In The Bachelor's Degree And/Or In The Master's Degree In Science/Social Sciences/Humanities, Bachelor In Engineering Or Technology With Specialization In Science And Mathematics With 55% Marks Or Any Other Qualification Equivalent Thereby, Too, Are Eligible For Admission To The Programme .

  2. The Reservation And Relaxation For SC/ST/OBC/PCH And Other Categories Shall Be As Per The Rules Of The State Government. (45% Marks For ST/SC Category)

  3. Minimum Age - 18 Years On July (Concerned Year).

 CANDIDATES WITH ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ARE     NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION

  1. Candidates Who Have Appeared For University Examination And Are Awaiting Results.

  2. Candidates Who Have Received The Marks From The Cross List Only.

  3. Candidates Who Have Already Been Enrolled For any Other Course. In other words. No Candidate Is Allowed To Take Admission In Two Courses Simultaneously.

  4. Students With Computer Application, I.T., Anthropology As Honours Subject Need Not Apply.

  5. Inclusion/Exclusion Of The Subjects In The List For Admission May Change As Per Policy Of The State/Government/NCTE.

 LENGTH OF COURSE

  • The Course Duration Is Of Two Academic Years Starting From July Which Can Be Completed In A Maximum Period Of 3 Years From The Date Of Admission To The Programme.

  • There Shall Be At Least 200 Teaching Days In A Year Excluding The Period Of Admission, Examination Etc. Besides, Every Trainee Shall Be Required To Undergo Internship In Teaching (Including Practice Teaching And Skill Development For At Least 40+40 Periods In The Nearby Secondary/Senior Secondary Schools Allotted By The Head Of The Institution.

 ADMISSION & INTAKE

ADMISSION IN B.Ed. is taken through teacher eligiblity Exam followed by counselling conducted by Jharkhand combined entrance competitive exam board(JCECEB).

​

College Will Admit A Maximum Of 100 (One Hundred) Students (Boys/Girls)

3% Seats Are Reserved For Physically Challenged Applicants As Per Central Government Policy. 85% Seats Are Reserved For Those Who Have Passed From Ranchi University And 15% Seats Are Reserved For Outside Candidates Who Do Not Belong To Ranchi University, However, The Outsider- Candidates Will Have To Compete With The Candidates Of Ranchi University On Merit Basis.

Each Application Form Can Be Procured From The College Office On Cash Payment. Duly Filled In Forms With Relevant Documents As Given Below-Must Be Submitted Personally Or By Post To The College So As To Reach Before The Last Date For Submitting The Application Form :

  2. Self-Attested Matriculation/ICSE/CBSE Marks-Sheet

  3. Self-Attested Intermediate/Plus Two/12th Marks-Sheet

  4. Self-Attested Degree Marks-Sheet

  5. Self-Attested M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Final Year Marks-Sheet

  6. Self-Attested Caste And Income Certificate (SC/ST/EBC/OBC Students) Issued By The Competent Authority.

  7. Self-Attested Copy Of Residential Certificate (Issued From Jharkhand By An Authorized Government Officer) See Annexure-I

  8. Self-Attested Copy Of Physically Handicapped Certificate .

 NOTE

  1. Caste Certificate, Income Certificate And Residential Certificate Should Be Issued To The Candidate At The Same Address By The Authorised Officer.

  2. Income Certificate Must Have Been Issued Not More Than Six Month Ago : At The Time Of Admission.

  3. No Extra-Time Will Be Given For Want Of Any Certificate At The Time Of Admission.

  4. All Original Documents Will Be In The Custody Of The B.Ed. Department For At Least 3-Months After Admission To The Course.

 RULES AND REGULATIONS

​

  1. A Student Admitted To B.Ed. Course In Colleges Must Maintain An Ethos Of Commitment To The Professional Programme. He/She Is Expected To Behave In A Dignified Manner On The College Campus.

    • A Trainee Must Attend 80% Of All Theory Classes (Including Optional Subjects), As Per Norms Of Ranchi University And NCTE.

    • The Trainees Must Attend All Demonstration Classes During The Course As Well As His/ Her Scheduled Practical Teaching Classes Of 20 Weeks For A Two Year Programme Prior Permission Is Required From The Principal For Any Absence Either From Theory Or Practical Classes And Community Life Activities. Application For Leave Should Be In Writing.

  2. No Other Commitment, Such As Competitive Examination, Computer Course, Private Tuition, University Examination Should Be Undertaken During The Regular College Timings Of Classes And Activities.

  3. Every Student Is Expected To Make The Best Use Of The Library Books.

  4. The Trainees E I Expected To Take Proper Care Of The College Property.

  5. If A Candidate V.Ei'ts To Drop Out From The Course Before The Commencement Of Classes, He/ She Will Receive Refund Of Fee, Except Admission Fee. After The Commencement Of Classes There Will Be Refund Of Money As Per Rule Applicable At That Time.

  6. Dress Code As Decided By The Governing Body Of The Autonomous College Is A Must For Every Student.
